18 Roden Court - Newcastle/Bryansford - County Down - Northern Ireland

Roden Court is a small exclusive development in the little village of Bryansford on the edge of Tollymore Forest Park in the Kingdom of Mourne, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The house is just 3 minutes walk from the gates of the park and 5 minutes walk from the village shop and post office.

Bryansford is about 3 miles west of Newcastle. This famous seaside resort nestles at the foot of Slieve Donard, the highest mountain in Northern Ireland and boasts the world famous Royal County Down Golf Links. Newcastle is where “The Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea” as immortalised in the famous song by Percy French The area is great for many outdoor activities such as hill walking, angling, bird watching, horse riding, cycling, painting and photography and is an ideal centre for exploring the lovely County Down Coast.

In Bryansford village, opposite the exit gate from Tollymore Forest Park turn into Burrenreagh Road then turn right into Roden Court. Number 18 is situated last but one in the terrace on the right.

This is beautiful cottage in a wonderful setting. The cottage itself is warm and inviting, with spacious, comfortable rooms and all you could need has been provided.

The setting is perfect, with Tollymore forest park and all it's beautiful walks just across the road, the Mourne mountains all around and the town of Newcastle just minutes away. From the moment we arrived we felt right at home, a feeling enhanced by our lovely welcome basket.

This was our third visit to Roden Court and we hope to be back soon.

I can recommend this holiday cottage to anyone looking for a holiday in Northern Ireland. It is situated in a wonderful location being close to the Mourne Mountains and right across the road from the wonderful Tollymore Forest park and is a short drive away from Belfast.

The cottage itself is excellent, very clean and spacious. The owners have thought of everything and are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them.

So if you’re looking for a holiday in Northern Ireland then I recommend you try this cottage you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic House: review by dawn

My family and I stayed here for a week. My parents are elderly so the downstairs bedroom with ensuite was perfect for them. The house is spacious well decorated, and spotlessly clean.

The lovely couple who own the house were there to welcome us and left the most loveliest pack of nice goodies to get us started.

The facilities are great, they think of everything, well deserved 4 star accommodation.

The cottage is straight ahead as you look. Unfortunately we are limited with Google Street View and can't get right to the door but if you turn to your right you will see arched gates which is Tollymore Forest Park. A short walk! Click on the icon in the top right corner to view in full screen. (Escape will allow you to exit full screen mode). Hold the left button on your mouse and drag to view from different angles. To move along the road either click the arrows on the road or choose a spot further along the road and left click your mouse once to advance! (If you don't move your mouse far enough away you will see a magnifying glass in your circle, move a bit further and it disappears. Click and advance! If you find yourself activating the magnifying glass simply right click and zoom out.)

You will have noticed a small window to the bottom right with a little yellow man in the centre. What you are seeing in the main window is the view through his eyes. This window can be enlarged by clicking the arrow in the top left corner. Use the '+' and '-' to zoom in/out. You can also drag the yellow man to e.g. the nearest town and have a quick tour before you arrive! Of course the blue icon represents the location of the cottage.

Note: Extend (top left) the box in the right bottom corner and click and drag the yellow man down Burrenreagh Road. Although this road appears to stop at a t-junction keep going as if the road is there. You will see a road coming towards you, release the yellow man on this road and have a wander around Tollymore Forest Park!
