This 18th century listed building has been sympathetically restored retaining many original features yet giving the modern holiday seeker all their modern comforts. From its early days it stood as a small cottage with outbuildings. These have all now been integrated into one unit to form the ideal holiday retreat. The restored traditional thatched roof and cottage half door add to its character. Other features include an open fire, half loft and jamb wall.
Interesting features are the keeping holes above the fire where salt and sugar would have been stored in years gone by. The high ceiling bog oak beams add to the ambience.

All I can say about this place is that it must be one of the best places to stay in the whole of Ireland.

The Welcome pack was great along with the welcome itself. No problems at all and thanks for making us feel so at home. Nothing more cosy than a peat fire. Will definitely be back soon and will recommend. Thanks.

It's impossible to sum up our feelings about Magherally Cottage in a couple of lines. I will never forget the way we were welcomed: your kind words, the lovely basket of goodies, the peat fire, the beautiful and comfortable accommodation, and, of course the world class view from our front door. The cottage is so nicely located, just minutes from town, and within easy driving distance of so many attractions.
